Re – Cycling and skate park in Carrara ???

What a change, we should send our stone steps that have been wrongly done ( that sometimes happen) to be use there ! Stone, marble, french limestone or portland.

Recycling stone has been always at the core of stonemasonry, in classical architecture how many time old stone structure where dismantling and rebuilding using old piece of stone. Now we can even crush all type of limestone and use it for all sort of landfill and decoration ! even Carrara marble ! Stone is by definition recyclable and has its right place in the Green Guide !

it is all about the tools.

We forgot sometimes how crucial is the transport of stone. Even more by looking in the past do we see the way the sites were organised.

Even if it is Classical architecture it does not mean success in planning application !

Robert Adam, classical architecture specialist have been battling for some time with this massive mansion.

That what future might look if we push specialising in post tension spiral stairs or floating staircase since now 2010 when we first use this technique on a portland stone staircase. The floating sensation for this known heavy material is quite destabilising. Especially with the thin throat of the stone or marble steps.

The Transition on the winders ….

Not everybody can successfully design an Kinkless transition from the curved fro, the flat soffits to the twisted part of the staircase. On this Anstrude stone staircase, you can see the well smooth underneath of the spiral of the cantilever stair.

A new stone in our portfolio !

We added a new natural limestone for our stone stair and fireplaces. It took us a while to find this superb stone with its lovely feature. The base of this material is ivory and we are sure it is going to be a big saker. The strength of this stone is quite high and it will cope with no problem for our cantilever staircase or post tension steps.
