Really, Finally a spiral staircase in stone … by us !

With bit of luck finally we might do our first spiral with newel stone staircase in London.

Here the new one, a beautifully thinly crafted cantilever staircase.

Tucked in south London, in the Surrey, Kent area, this Moleanos limestone staircase is for a new house. The work was an effortless cooperation with Tatham contractor.

With so much work on cantilever staircases and new build, we have to deliver on time our superb natural limestone product from, made of portland or marble.

64 flights, 64 flight of Stone Staircases.

When we look back, it is very proud that we look back, 64 flight, cantilever staircases, post tensioned, reinforced, with supporting wall, made of bricks, concrete, wood !

Does Horse shoe bring good lucks ? at least stone stair in horse shoe shape.

We have just completed our first staircase on a horse shoe set out and what a beauty. ! the stone landing, load bearing, linking the 2 stair is just so thin and delicately fitted on the steps. ! The all cantilever shape look like some embracing arm made of natural limestone...

After awaiting nearly a year to have access granted to this magnificient stone staircase we fitted a while back. The central core of the house, it is a spiral staircase made of portland on 7 floors. more that 3 months on site the behemoth have made us more aware of scheduling work in central London, delivery next to one of the busiest street of London.

That what future might look if we push specialising in post tension spiral stairs or floating staircase since now 2010 when we first use this technique on a portland stone staircase. The floating sensation for this known heavy material is quite destabilising. Especially with the thin throat of the stone or marble steps.

The Transition on the winders ….

Not everybody can successfully design an Kinkless transition from the curved fro, the flat soffits to the twisted part of the staircase. On this Anstrude stone staircase, you can see the well smooth underneath of the spiral of the cantilever stair.
